Professor Synapse assistant plugin
Turn a broad AI task into focused work with Professor Synapse
When a goal has several moving parts, Professor Synapse helps clarify what you want, choose a fitting specialist, and work through the next step with your constraints in view.
The problem
A broad request can send an assistant straight into drafting or coding before it knows your source material, limits, or definition of done. You then spend time correcting work that answered the wrong question. The first useful step is to make the goal specific enough to hand to the right specialist.
The solution
We built Professor Synapse to clarify the outcome you want before work begins, then help put the right expert on the next step. In the full Claude Code plugin, it can match an existing specialist or create one for the task and carry the working context forward. You review the chosen direction before the work continues.
How it works
-
State the outcome
Bring a real, bounded goal. Say what result you need, which materials to use, and what the assistant must avoid or ask before changing.
-
Clarify the task
Professor asks for the details that affect the next step. Answer with your constraints and correct any mistaken assumption.
-
Choose a specialist
In the Claude Code plugin, Professor matches a built-in expert or creates one for the work. In the separate chat forms, review the suggested role or plan before acting.
-
Work and review
Let the selected path handle one focused step, then check the result against your sources and goal before moving on.

Frequently asked questions
Which Professor Synapse form should I choose?
Use the full plugin in Claude desktop Code or Claude Code for expert routing, Code hooks, and its file-backed workflow. The uploadable Claude skill is a separate Chat option. ChatGPT has a separate Professor Synapse GPT, and the universal prompt works as text in other assistants.
Can I use the full plugin in Claude desktop?
Yes, in the desktop Code tab. Add the shared marketplace in Customize > Plugins, install Professor Synapse, and start a new Code session. Ordinary Claude Chat does not run the Code plugin's hooks.
Does the ChatGPT GPT have the same hooks and memory?
The separate GPT helps with goal guidance. Code hooks and file-backed memory belong to the Claude Code plugin, so use its setup path when you need those features.
What should I give it first?
Give it a bounded goal, the material it may use, and any limits or approval points. Ask it to clarify the goal and suggest a suitable specialist or next step, then review that choice.
