Yes, in most cases. Massachusetts runs the Workforce Training Fund Express Program, which reimburses eligible employers for live, instructor-led training, and Synaptic Labs' AI training qualifies. For eligible organizations, it can cover up to 100% of the cost. The program is run by Commonwealth Corporation, and Synaptic Labs helps you confirm your training qualifies before you apply.
The Express Program is open to Massachusetts employers with 100 or fewer Massachusetts employees. You generally need a physical Massachusetts location, W-2 employees in the state, and you must pay into the state's unemployment insurance and Workforce Training Fund. For-profits, nonprofits, and sole proprietors are typically eligible, while government agencies and community colleges are not. One note for nonprofits: if you finance unemployment insurance through the reimbursable method instead of paying into the fund, you generally will not qualify. The state makes the final determination, and Synaptic Labs helps you check before you apply.
Eligible Massachusetts employers with 100 or fewer employees can be reimbursed for up to 100% of training costs. The program covers up to $3,000 per person per course, with a maximum of $15,000 per organization per calendar year. Live, instructor-led training qualifies, which is exactly how Synaptic Labs delivers its programs. Self-paced courses, webinars, and on-demand videos do not qualify under the Express Program, so a free online course will not count even though our grant-funded live training will. Synaptic Labs makes sure the specific program you choose is set up to qualify before you apply.
Applications go through Commonwealth Corporation on a rolling basis, and you must apply at least 21 days before the training starts, so it pays to plan ahead. You can apply up to six months in advance. You will need a few documents, including a Certificate of Compliance and a Certificate of Good Standing, and Synaptic Labs walks you through gathering them. The simplest path is a short conversation where we map the timeline with you.
