DeSlop writing plugin

Improve AI-generated writing with DeSlop

Your AI-assisted draft says what you mean, but the wording sounds generic. DeSlop helps you find what feels off and make the approved edits sound like you.

The problem

AI can help you get ideas onto the page. It can also call a routine update “a pivotal moment” without saying what changed. Generic claims, filler transitions, and repeated phrasing flatten your voice. The useful edit is to find those passages and keep the wording that still sounds like you.

The solution

We built DeSlop to help you revise generic AI-assisted writing without losing your voice. This writing skill checks your draft against 39 catalogued patterns, shows possible findings and reasons before a rewrite, and asks which changes you approve. Its editing workflow preserves the facts and meaning you supplied while using your feedback as the guide.

How it works

  1. Give it your draft

Upload or paste a blog, newsletter, or email draft you made with AI. Add a sample of your own voice if you have one; it gives DeSlop a better reference for the edit.

  2. Find the patterns

DeSlop checks your draft against 39 AI-writing patterns, including generic phrases, filler, inflated claims, and repetitive structure. It looks at context and possible false positives before recommending changes.

  3. Review the findings

It shows the passages it flagged and why. You decide what sounds wrong, what belongs in your voice, and which changes to make.

  4. Revise what you approve

DeSlop rewrites the approved passages using your feedback, then checks that the draft keeps your meaning and adds no unsupported facts.

Frequently asked questions

Where can I use DeSlop?

The released skill is available through the Synaptic Labs marketplace in Claude and supported ChatGPT desktop or Codex plugin environments. Choose your app in the walkthrough for its exact setup path.

Do I need a terminal?

No for the Claude or ChatGPT desktop marketplace steps. Claude Code and local Codex also have command-line paths when you prefer an agent-led install.

Can it keep my writing voice?

Give it a sample of your writing and review the suggestions. The skill treats your voice sample as the strongest style reference, and you can keep any flagged wording that fits.

Will it add facts or change my meaning?

Its workflow requires a fact-preserving rewrite and a check for unsupported details. Read the result against your source and reject any change that loses a qualification or adds a claim.

Does it detect whether text was written by AI?

No. It identifies possible writing patterns to review. A phrase can be flagged in human writing too, so you decide whether the finding is useful.
